Meditation for Spiritual Stamina

This kriya is intended to cultivate spiritual stamina. Spiritual stamina can take you calmly and quietly through the challenges of life. For the first few minutes, you may experience nothing but misery and discomfort. If it feels safe and appropriate to endure it, you may find yourself entering a state of deep relaxation.

The Practice

Posture: Sit in Easy Pose (a comfortable cross-legged sitting position), or in a chair with a straight spine.

Mudra: Interlace the fingers and raise the arms up over the head with the palms facing down. Bend the elbows and lower the hands until they are about 6 inches from the crown of the head.

Breath: Deeply inhale and suspend the breath in. Completely exhale and suspend the breath out. Be sure to use long, deep, complete breaths.

Eyes: 1/10th open.

Continue for 11 minutes; gradually increase the practice up to 31 minutes.

Comments:

Do your best to sit tall and keep the hands overhead at all times in order to cover the magnetic field. The hands themselves act as a neutral polarity to the electromagnetism that the meditation builds up.

The pressure we all go through is sometimes unbearable, and the pressure is always here. There are times when we will be the rock for another, and times when we need the support of others to collectively carry the weight. That is why we build spiritual endurance through meditation and mantra.
