Ang Sang Wahe Guru

Ang Sang Wahe Guru

Translation: “The dynamic, loving energy of the Infinite Source of All is dancing within every cell of me.” This mantra eliminates haunting thoughts. Under the pressures of fear, this meditation keeps us together, conscious, and ready to act. It brings the inner peacefulness that comes only from the touch and scope of spirit. Ang is ‘a part.’ Sang is ‘in every,’ or ‘with every.’ Wahe is ‘the indescribable living ecstasy of Infinite Being.’ Guru is ‘the knowledge that transforms your mind, emotion and essence.’ The whole phrase means, “The Infinite Being, God, is with me, and vibrates in every molecule and cell of my being.” “The word Ang Sang Wahe Guru is…

The Teacher Within: Tratakum Meditation

In the yogic scriptures it says, “Even a glance from the eyes of a holy man can cure mental and physical imbalances.” Once in a very great while there is a picture that has a transcendent quality of neutrality that allows the person gazing at it to go through it and into their higher consciousness. This is a form of meditation called Tratakum. Years ago, a photograph was taken of Yogi Bhajan which had such a quality, and it has been used ever since by students as a link to their teacher and their inner consciousness. It is called simply,…

Healthy Happy Holy Breath

Reposted from Awaken. Summer and Winter Solstices have been the gathering time for those of us who love 3HO and the teachings of Yogi Bhajan (registered trademark) to be together kind of a spiritual family reunion. This year, 2019, is amazingly the 50th anniversary of 3HO. Yogi Ji created the Healthy Happy Holy Organization, that’s 3HO. For 46 of those years 3HO has been my family and international community. It turns out that my sister Guru Raj Kaur in Vancouver Canada is also part of this spiritual community. You may also know my niece, Nirinjan Kaur (the younger) the singer…

What is Winter Solstice?

“Winter Solstice is a tradition. It is celebrated in the spirit of who we are, and it gives us strength and achievement and brings us to feel our essence. It is a gathering of the souls of the beautiful. At Winter Solstice we can really shake hands, plan for our future and show our devotion and dedication.” These are the words of Yogi Bhajan in 1986 to describe the beauty of Winter Solstice. Each year at Winter Solstice students and seekers of truth from around the world gather on a cozy campground in Northern Florida to meditate, practice the ancient…

Early 3HO

First 3HO Summer Solstice Sadhana

A firsthand account of the early days of 3HO, the Healthy,Happy, Holy Organization, according to Guru Singh Khalsa, as shared on harisingh.com and 3HO.org. It is the brightest fire of the year, June 21; the longest day; the shortest night; a time spiritual communities have celebrated for thousands of years. This is the Summer Solstice Sadhana, and in June of 1969 3HO began its now decades old tradition of gathering from all over the world for celebrating with Kundalini Yoga, meditation, and White Tantra Yoga. The full story of our tradition actually begins the summer before. It was June of…

Yogi Bhajan Honored for Mission of Peace

Excerpted from a Middlesex News article from Sunday, November 19, 1995: Friday, November 17, 1995 – Yogi Bhajan was honored as the 52nd recipient of the Peace Abbey Courage of Conscience Award. He said he merely teaches others to raise their own spirit because “a man without peace is not a man complete”. “When I first came to the US in 1969 for a short visit, I saw all the young people getting high on drugs.  It was painful to see, so I decided to stay and take the challenge”, Yogi Bhajan said.   “Peace is difficult to understand.  It is…

3HO European Teachers in 1975

3HO Europe – the ’70s and ’80s

by S.S. Sardar Singh Khalsa, Oslo, Norway, as shared in the 1988 edition of the Beads of Truth, a 3HO Foundation publication. To fully convey the impressions that are deepest within me of the early years in Europe, I wish I could show moving pictures and video glimpses of expressions and situations: like Tantric in Holland, the Siri Singh Sahib’s eyes as he counselled, welcoming smiles in Hamburg, a Golden Temple Restaurant kitchen scene. And then I remember the sounds of the Siri Singh Sahib’s voice, the melody of voices translating into languages of the Mediterranean and the North, at…
