Shakti Parwha Kaur and Yogi Bhajan - 1971

My Favorite Mantra: Ek Ong Kar Sat Nam Siri Wahe Guru

I have a great personal attachment and affection for this mantra, because Yogi Bhajan taught it to me in December of 1968, when my 19-year-old son was in serious trouble. Yogiji told me, “There is nothing more powerful in the world than the prayer of a mother for her son, and if you will chant this mantra for one hour before sunrise every day for 40 days, he will be all right.” I asked, “What about all the other things I’m doing, my Sufi visualization, my Hopi mantra, and my Vedanta meditation?” He said, “Fine, do them, but try this also.”…

How the Guru Guru Wahe Guru Mantra Came to Be

In this 1978 “Sikh Dharma Brotherhood” article, Krishna Kaur recounts her experience in 1971 of hearing the “Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru” mantra for the first time: It was a cool morning in mid-January. I got up as usual at 3:00 a.m., showered and got dressed in the dark, smoothed out my bed and made my way across the street to the little house where the Siri Singh Sahib was staying. It was quiet and crisp outside, and though I couldn’t hear anything, I was quite aware of the murmur of people rising in the Amrit Vela to chant…

I sent my boy to India, well… actually he wanted

All my life, I never wanted to have kids because of the pain I experienced as a child. I had rejected the idea that it was possible to have a happy childhood. That was until I met Amar Singh. We were in a restaurant during the South American ‘Lord of Miracles Tour’ when I met him. He must have been about 6 years old. He was sitting beside me, and his mother was beside him. A simple correction from his mother made me see the possibility that there was a way to be conscious with your child in your communication…

My Experience of What White Tantric Yoga® is All About

My Experience of What White Tantric Yoga® is All About

“White Tantric Yoga® is when you achieve supreme happiness of the soul and bliss in the consciousness and you break all doubts and barriers in your subconscious mind.” ~Yogi Bhajan, October 30, 1972, Santa Cruz, CA This is the incredible promise of White Tantric Yoga®—to break through our doubts and barriers in the subconscious mind that hold us back in life. For decades, I would travel to one-day tantric courses throughout the year. However, the highlight of those years was sharing precious time with my daughter as we drove to the Summer Solstice events in New Mexico, with three consecutive days of White Tantric Yoga®. I…

Summer Solstice in Your Own Words

Summer Solstice at Ram Das Puri is all about practicing. Practicing what? Practicing this practice. Practicing this discipline. And what is this discipline about? This discipline is about controlling your own mind. It is about commanding your mind so that your emotions and your thoughts don’t waver and steal your integrity from you. This opportunity to be here gives you the chance to take real cold showers in the morning, gather with a couple hundred people to sing, chant, and stretch before the sun rises. Then, you are probably part of a group helping with some mission within the bigger…

Summer Solstice In Your Own Words

Hi, Sat Nam, beautiful souls. It is so wonderful to be here at Summer Solstice 2024. It is my first Summer Solstice, and it has been absolutely beautiful — absolutely divine. It has been so lovely to be here, to see my beautiful family, and I am so grateful to be here. The classes have been wonderful. I am just about to head to a singing class right now, so I am very excited for that. And I am also very excited for the White Tantric Yoga® days coming up. Sat Nam. Wahe Guru.

Summer Solstice 2024 Connection Review

With almost 500 people registered, this Summer Solstice 2024 was high in spirit and a revitalizing experience. Ram Das Puri and the surrounding landscape was vibrant and green. Unlike what we’re used to, this year New Mexico had plenty of rain, cloudy days, and thunderstorms mixed with some nights with heavy wind. The elements were there letting us know the transformation that is happening everywhere on the globe.  We had more than 70 teachers and musicians lending their talent to our Yogic Workshops, Morning Sadhanas, Gurdwaras, and of course White Tantric Yoga® was celebrated. For many, this was their first Summer Solstice Sadhana and, for some, the first White Tantric Yoga. I felt the heart of the…
