About the Winter Solstice Experience

Community. Hope. Transformation.

The Winter Solstice Festival offers the perfect opportunity to hit the reset button on your life. We come together as a Global Community of Living Yoga to recommit to our priorities: self-knowledge, service, spiritual development, and gratitude. We go beyond our habitual limitations to discover our true identities and to acknowledge that quality in others. All 3HO events include Bhakti Yoga, the devotion to helping and caring for oneself AND one another. This means everyone is expected to participate in some karma yoga daily as part of a team. Anyone can opt out of Karma Yoga if you wish to pay it forward and purchase a full price retail event ticket that serves the mission of Kundalini Yoga for everyone everywhere. Your full priced ticket makes the event possible for folks from all economic backgrounds to participate and enjoy this experience.

It is a transcendent experience of being together in community as we support one another to live consciously, to grow closer to ourselves, and to live our truth. Now more than ever we all need support, reassurance and time together in community, away from our screens and helping each other out. This is the spirit of the heart flame of Solstices for many years.  Join us and feel the connection with yourself and others.

During our time together we will discover ways to bring forward the most universal parts of how to nurture one another. As we deepen our practice and participate in acts of Seva together, we begin to build the strength to support one another through the tests of the world.

A Daily Kundalini Practice

There will be Kundalini all day, from morning sadhana to multiple offerings from experienced teachers in the schedule. The emphasis in Kundalini Yoga is on the flow of the kriya—the specific sequence of exercises and meditations (these may include posture, breath, mantra, focus, and/or movement).

Retreats by the Lake – At Camp La Llanada

This year’s Winter Solstice will be hosted in the beautiful campgrounds at Retreats by the Lake – At Camp La Llanada in Lake Wales, Florida – 90 minutes from Tampa and Orlando and 3 hours from Miami.

This is our chance to reconnect in a familiar landscape! 3HO has hosted Winter Solstice in beautiful Florida for many years and we’d like to return there and see you again under the gorgeous oak trees and by the lake and pool! Although there is no swimming in the lake, we have made arrangements to have the pool open in the off-season for swimming.

Winter Solstice has always been a cozy gathering and we look forward to the chance to hold one another in peace, joy, and connection. 3HO International is dedicated to continuing our bi annual Solstice gatherings and we can’t wait to celebrate the season with you again.

Supporting Your Journey at Solstice

Silence

Some people choose to be silent during their Solstice experience (with the exception of mantra, meditation, chanting, etc). This can give us the experience of an even deeper connection with our souls and one another.

There are special badges you can wear if you choose to ‘go on silence’ to let others know you are choosing not to speak. Some people choose to communicate via written notes if necessary. Being silent during your solstice experience can bring focus and depth to the transformative process.

Hospitality

The Hospitality team is available to answer questions, give site tours, and help with any problems you may encounter. This is a valuable resource, particularly if this is your first Solstice experience. The Hospitality team is there to serve you and welcomes your inquiries.

The Solstice Staff

If you are new to the Solstice experience please feel free to talk with your karma yoga/service exchange manager and anyone you see with a “Guide” flag on their badge. You may also go to the Security Office, Registration Tent, or Administrative Office to connect with a 3HO staff member on any security or personal safety issue. We are a community event and you are a part of that community if you have questions no matter how silly they may seem please ask. Winter Solstice is a safe place to be with your fellow yogis and to explore your practice. Please read our Anti-Harassment Policy. All participants are responsible to know and participate in this policy.

Special Needs and Disability Access
If you have special needs, please reach out to the 3HO support team. We will do our best to accommodate you. In the past, we have been able to offer ASL interpreters for the Deaf. We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all.
