3HO History

Traveling extensively, Yogi Bhajan crusaded tirelessly to educate, uplift, and enlighten everyone he met. His basic message was, “It is your birthright to be healthy, happy, and holy“.

Increasing numbers of Yogi Bhajan’s students began teaching Kundalini Yoga, and families and communities grew in New Mexico and all over the world, many embracing the Sikh tradition. Under his guidance, 3HO expanded worldwide, to 300 centers in 35 countries

As Yogi Bhajan traveled and taught, his staff recorded his lectures on cassette tapes. Many students took copious notes, made drawings and took Polaroid photos of yogic postures. The first yoga manuals were compiled and verified by the Kundalini Research Institute (KRI). Longtime student Siri Ved Singh began audiotaping lectures at the early White Tantric Yoga® courses and also began taping the Los Angeles Kundalini Yoga classes. Shakti Parwha Kaur (Mother of 3HO) sent out newsletters containing transcripts of his lectures.
