Sa Ta Na Ma Kriya to Balance the 5 Tattvas

This is a variation of Kirtan Kriya that works to balance the five elements. When the elements, or tattvas, are out of balance, you will be off balance. When the five tattvas are in balance, you are virtuous, powerful, and attractive.

Do not practice this kriya for more than 11 minutes.

Before you begin your practice, tune-in by chanting the mantra Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo

The Practice

Posture: Sit in Easy Pose with a straight spine, and a light Neck Lock.

Mudra: Place your wrists on your knees, with the arms straight, start with hands in Gyan Mudra.

Eyes: Focus your eyes at the tip of the nose.

Breath & Mantra: Make an ‘O’ shape with your mouth. Breathe in long and slow as you mentally chant Saa Taa Naa Maa, and repeat as you breathe out.

You must hear the hissing sound of the breath going in and out through the ‘O’ shape of the mouth.

Mudras: With each silent repetition of the sound alternate between four mudras:

On Saa press the thumb and index (Jupiter) fingers together.

On Taa press the thumb and middle (Saturn) fingers together.

On Naa press the thumb and ring (Sun) fingers together.

On Maa press the thumb and pinkie (Mercury) fingers together.

Time

Continue for 11 minutes.
