The mission of 3HO International is to serve humanity by being the face, identity, and unifying force of the organization and community, representing the teachings of Sikh Dharma and the Siri Singh Sahib Yogi Bhajan®, to elevate individual and community consciousness.
Healthy, Happy & Holy
Yogi Bhajan told us from the start, “Happiness is your birthright.” He shared an immense scope of yogic science on how to be healthy in body, mind and spirit. Holy speaks to our human divinity — recognizing the light within ourselves and others.
What We Do
Our goal is to inspire people to realize their full potential through the uplifting experience of Kundalini Yoga, the 3HO lifestyle, and the power of the Shabad Guru. We do this through:
- EDUCATION. We curate and share 3HO lifestyle and Kundalini Yoga teachings and practices, via our website, emails, and social media, and by continually growing our online library of recorded workshops.
- CONNECTION. We bring people together in community through our in-person events and online workshops, with a focus on elevating voices from the global Kundalini Yoga community.
- NETWORK. Through the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association, we support teachers with resources and member benefits. Find a Kundalini Yoga teacher or Teacher Training program here!
- AWARENESS. We expand the awareness of the full breadth of the lifestyle Yogi Bhajan brought us through our own efforts and by showcasing the work of our sister legacy nonprofits.
- SPIRITUAL NAMES. Through our Spiritual Names department, dedicated Kundalini Yoga practitioners can apply to learn their spiritual name, which reveals their destiny in this lifetime.

Every member of our team enriches our mission of delivering these teachings to our global communities. We value their ideas and unique perspectives, all of which expand our impact and broaden our reach.
Brief History
3HO International was founded as a nonprofit in 1969, when Yogi Bhajan introduced the yogic teachings for a healthy, happy, holy lifestyle to the West. Many young seekers who had been experimenting with drugs, found a profound sense of fulfillment and a natural high from practicing Kundalini Yoga. Yogi Bhajan’s slogan, ‘Drugs are a drag,’ resonated with them.
After some time, Yogi Bhajan sent his most promising students to begin yoga centers and ashrams around the world, and over the next six decades, annual Winter and Summer Solstice gatherings continue to bring practitioners together—families and friends, first-timers and old-timers. 3HO has become a cornerstone for sharing Kundalini Yoga and a yogic lifestyle internationally. This mission remains at the heart of 3HO International today.
