Yogi Bhajan Teaches at the East West Cultural Center

Yogi Bhajan taught Kundalini Yoga at the East West Cultural Center in Los Angeles, CA, in 1969, where he gave some of his first public lectures in the United States. Word of a master from India teaching Kundalini Yoga spread rapidly, and his classes grew in popularity. Soon busloads of young people from all over the West Coast flocked to the East West Cultural Center.
Classes eventually became too large, and Yogiji was asked to leave. However, one of his students owned an Antique Shop on the corner of Melrose and Robertson and generously offered him the use of his showroom for classes.
