Yogi Bhajan Memorial Day

In an official state proclamation, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson declared October 23, 2004, as “Yogi Bhajan Memorial Day.” Richardson announced the proclamation in front of thousands attending the memorial service.

Richardson acknowledged his special friendship with a man who was “not just my friend, but a friend of the entire political leadership of this state and the entire political leadership of America.” He noted the “unquestionable influence that he had with leaders…he was a man of peace.”
