Renewing the Brain: Mental Exercises

This kriya uses mudra to bring the brain into balance, balancing the glandular secretions throughout both hemispheres of the brain and throughout the body. Renewing the brain is your fundamental human right to manifest your own destiny and live a life of purpose.

Before you begin your practice, tune-in by chanting the mantra Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo

The Practice

Chanting to Rakhe Rakhanhar, you will move through a series of eight postures, one posture for each line of the mantra. The recording of Rakhe Rakhanhar by Singh Kaur was used in class.

This kriya was originally practiced for a total of 1 hour 45 minutes.

Posture: Bend the elbow, raise the right hand with palm inward at face level, midway between side and front. Keep the head forward, look into the hand as if it were a mirror, shifting the eyes to the right so you are looking out of the corner of your eyes. This works on the optical nerve.

Mantra: Rakhay rakhanhaar aap ubaarian

Time

Hold this posture as you chant Rakhay rakhanhaar aap ubaarian.

Posture: Bring both hands to the brow line with palms down, as if shading eyes. Gaze far away. This lets you see into the future.

Mantra: Gur kee pairee paa-eh kaaj savaarian

Time

Hold this posture as you chant Gur kee pairee paa-eh kaaj savaarian.
