3HO Foundation International’s Solstice Celebrations wouldn’t happen without Service Exchange participants. We are a community event generated by the people and for the people. The success of the event depends on each person's dedication and commitment to doing seva (selfless service). If you decide to become a Service Exchange member, this will be one of the defining experiences of your Solstice. One of the most exciting rewards of Solstice is the opportunity to co-create the event through daily participation at every level. Our interdependence creates a sense of intimacy that adds depth and meaning to everything we do at Solstice.
Your Commitment to the Service Exchange Team, 3HO, and the Global Community
As a Solstice Service Exchange Team member your principal commitment is to make your service area successful. As a member of the team, you will generally serve approximately 5-6 hours a day in your service area but may serve more.
Arrival, departure, and service dates vary depending on the service area. You must be available for the entire duration of the service dates. Details for specific areas are listed below. If you arrive late or depart early you will be charged an additional $54/day. Service Exchange Team Members are expected on-site by 6:00 pm the day before their service starts in order to acclimate, and have ample time to set up their personal tents before it gets dark. No refunds will be given to Service Exchange participants after the end of early registration; no credits for future events after the 10th of June.
3HO’s Commitment to the Service Exchange Team
3HO supports you in a rewarding service experience and facilitates your participation in the Solstice program with:
- 1-2 workshops per day
- 2–3 days of White Tantric Yoga®
- $300 reduced registration rate ($325 after May 16th)
If you choose this powerful opportunity for spiritual growth, you will become an indispensable part of the backbone for this extraordinary event.
You'll find a description of each area, along with the names of the managers, arrival/departure dates, and applications on the Apply page by February 7th.
Registration and What to Expect
If you are accepted onto a Service Exchange Team you will receive a packet from your manager with all the details about how to register, and when and what to bring and what to expect.
Arriving at the Event
The Summer Solstice site is open to working exchange team members only beginning on the date that they are asked to arrive.
The Solstice Youth Camp is the only area that parents can apply for unless there are two parents. The second parent can apply for any position as long as one parent is serving in the Co-op. You may not serve on other teams unless another parent/guardian (18+) will be providing care for your child. If you choose to apply for another area let your area manager know you’re traveling with children and will have to serve one day with the Solstice Youth Camp.
