What to Bring

Sat Nam,

Our hearts go out to each of you at this time of great upheaval and challenge. We're sending you our wishes of health for yourself, all your loved ones, your communities, and the world.

In response to the public health challenge and uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, we have decided to cancel all of our in-person events for 2020: Summer Solstice Sadhana Celebration, International Women's Camp, Khalsa Youth Camp and now, most recently, Winter Solstice Sadhana Celebration.

We will, however, be holding space for two virtual events: a 1-day September e-Equinox on the 19th, as well as a 3-day December e-Solstice Summit.

We have enjoyed supporting our community online with Kundalini Yoga and look forward to continuing to do so through these future events and our other channels.

Best Wishes,

The 3HO Foundation Team

To make your experience at Winter Solstice more comfortable please bring the following items:

  • A Valid Photo ID (drivers license, passport, etc.)
  • Layered clothing appropriate for yoga practice, karma yoga, and playing
  • Warm coat/outerwear (some years are very cold at night)
  • Hat (for both sun and cold) and gloves
  • Rain gear
  • Sleeping bag, warm bedding, sleeping pad, as well as blankets suitable for cold temperatures. Pillow and sheets.  Cabin bunks contain only a thin mattress; please bring your own sheets.
  • Lighter clothing and bathing suit for swimming (days are often warm enough to sunbathe)
  • Headcover for Gurdwara if attending
  • Flip flops or shower shoes
  • A shawl or blanket and thick socks for cool morning sadhana
  • Sheepskin or yoga mat, warm blanket and/or coat for morning sadhana

Label your luggage: name, phone number, email and home address.

Climate: It is generally humid and often rains ranging from a drizzle to a torrential downpour. Temperatures have occasionally dropped below freezing. Some years the sun is bright and warm, and the lake temperatures allow for swimming.  Dress in layers and check the weather prior to arrival!

What NOT to Bring

Please keep in mind the preservation of the ecological balance of the solstice site as you select items to bring with you.

  • Please do not bring any aerosol sprays
  • Use items that have only a minimum of disposable packaging
  • Bring washable eating utensils for all members of your family; do not bring disposable plates and cups

What NOT to Leave

  • Nothing should be left, we are a 'leave no trace' site so please take with you whatever you bring!
  • Do not donate your sleeping bags, tents, or any other articles you have bought or brought that you do not want to take home. We're working on keeping the planet green. Thank you for respecting this request.
