Everyone I know is going to be so very, very happy when 2014 is over and done with.
This has been a year of keeping up our spirit and endurance against all odds, and we are all ready for a change for the better.
The 'better' is coming, we just need to pace ourselves through the last few steps of 2014, as we steadily move through December. The good news is that December can be an easier month to traverse than its predecessor (November), as long as we don’t fall prey to making a grandstanding effort to prove how right we are about the issue at hand.
The numbers 8 and 10 are at play in the sub-layers of December, and these two are the dynamic duo of power and authority. Number 8 appears in the Heart calculation for this month, and 8 represents the themes of power, money, energy, and healing. Where this all gets interesting is that the overall number for 2015 is an 8 (2+0+1+5=8), so our hearts are already wanting to leap into the future and get on with a better and more effective plan. Many people will be feeling, “I want money, I want power, I want healing, and I want it all now!”
There is often a classic scene in movies that relates to teenagers where one friend will say to the other, “I just can’t wait to get out of this town.” A gut level impulsiveness will have us feeling that we’ve “done our time” and deserve to be let out of the karmic holding pattern of this year.
Of course you deserve to be let out, just watch your footing as you take the last few exiting steps. And don’t let anyone lure you into revisiting an old grievance, just bless them and shine on. If you do take the bait you will likely be sorry, as you will lose precious energy that is meant for your forward momentum. Even in the Sikh scriptures it says, “Don’t engage with a fool.”
The 3 of December (1+2=3), represents themes of nurturing, creativity, and our joyful experience of life. We would all like to experience more joy in our lives, and sometimes the Universe has a funny way of delivering it. I know a young lady who lost her job as a secretary (which she hated), only to be propelled into school to become a Hair Stylist. She is much happier now and quite the toast of the town in her new profession. The temporary loss turned out to be a huge gain for her personal fulfillment.
With the shifting of the Piscean Age to the Aquarian Age comes an element of upheaval that is apparent every time you turn on the TV, radio, or internet. Many people are feeling highly frustrated with themselves, others, politics, the environment, etc. This frustration will not magically go away just because the cycles of the year or month change. It will only change through individuals creating a collective psyche of elevated spirit. That’s when the Aquarian Age will feel like a happy place, and not a battleground of turmoil.
Whenever anything dies, it has a lot of strength in its final fight for life. The adrenalin kicks in, and it’s not going out easily. Similarly, the “old school” attitudes, policies, and ways of being that have been set for centuries are not just going to roll over and die, they’re going out kicking and screaming.
It takes a truly meditative mind to not feel overwhelmed at times; the intensity of the fray can be enormously distracting. The New Year of 2015 affords a time of greater ease in manifesting our personal goals, as well as the shenanigans of the old school system trying to trip up the Aquarian vision. Your ability to focus and not fall into fear will depend largely on your relationship to the Pranic Body, the storehouse of your breath and vitality.
Number 8, the overall number for 2015, is the Pranic Body. Yogi Bhajan has said, “A lot of problems in family and social relationships are because you don’t have control over the breath.” The Meditation for Hair-Trigger Efficiency will give you the edge you need to perceive the situation correctly and not lose energy in over-reacting. Do you have 5 minutes a day to save yourself from burnout and an emotional train wreck? Of course you do!
Get a head start on the New Year by preparing yourself ahead of the curve. Will 2015 be a better year on planet Earth? Yes, if you start your journey with all four tires fully inflated, and not half depleted from the stress of this year.
There is no “free ride” anymore, and you are free as a bird when you enhance your own well being through loving yourself enough to engage in a practice of self-elevation.
“To live positive and be positive requires a very powerful spiritual power, which is called love. Love is a constant flow of that infinite power. Love represents God. Love represents you.”
-Yogi Bhajan, 11-23-77
