My name is David Aleksis (a.k.a. Sadhana Singh) and I reside in Toronto. Kundalini Yoga found me 16 years ago and I've been an active Teacher since 2005. One of my "missions" in the past few years has been to teach and encourage people—both within and outside of the Yoga community—of the life-altering joys and benefits of connecting with our breath; breath as medicine, if you will.
Last December, I was invited to speak at a TEDx event. The event was part of a global TED initiative under the umbrella theme of "Invented Here." This local event I was invited to speak at was called "Annex Women" and included a number of women speakers from the Annex (a neighbourhood in Toronto).
As a man, I found it odd to be invited to participate in this event but the organizer (a Kundalini Yogi herself) wanted me to share with the gathered some of what we do (in 10 minutes or less, no less). Now all I had to do was find a way for the lone male in the room to fit in amid female Sociology profs, bankers, authors (and, yes, even a rocket scientist). If you are interested, and have 10 minutes to spare, you can see what I did by clicking on the link below.
