Embodying the Aquarian Teacher is making a choice to take your highest path of service and self-illumination during your lifetime.
Yogi Bhajan talked about the “caliber” of a teacher. The Master’s Touch (KRI 2000) discusses caliber in the section called “The Caliber of a Teacher,” beginning on p. 187. He says: “Caliber is the total capacity of an individual to project one’s identity. You do not miss, you do not fail, you do not go wrong, you do not go under. Your caliber does not fail you. Caliber is a basic, consistent power in which a person can project, communicate, and lodge oneself, like a bullet.” -7/31/96
“So what is your idea in life? Your idea in life is to be in control, but you are very funny. If you do not obey, you never will command; if you do not serve, you can never control.
"They are cosmic laws. If you question, you are not in love with me; if you love, you can't question. It is a matter of width—how much consciousness you have. So what does this society offer us? It offers us a very funny thing: it offers us caliber.
"It doesn't offer anything—it offers us a caliber and it is a matter of caliber whether you walk into somebody’s shoes or you can walk ahead of somebody or you trail behind. It is not a question of wisdom, it is not a question of knowledge—how many books you have read. It is not a question of luck. It is your intuitive mind and you all have it. Simply, you have to put your mind with it. Once you put your mind with your intuition, you capture it; you get it.” -1/14/97
In October of 1979, Yogi Bhajan taught a meditation that is featured in the Aquarian Teacher Training Manual called “The Caliber of Life Meditation.” In it, you focus your eyes through a “V” shape made with your thumbs and “look through the V like a gunsight.” We invite you, the Aquarian Teachers, to practice this meditation and cultivate your own caliber and capacity to aim steady and make direct projected hits in your life and your work.
In addition to The Caliber of Life Meditation, you may also like to explore the “Caliber Kriya,” which is featured in Kriya: Yoga Sets, Meditations & Classic Kriyas from the Early Years of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan® (KRI 2013).
“How do you define the Teacher’s caliber? The Teacher is not a god, but he is a God-giver. Can you believe this definition? And you have come here to become Teachers. A Teacher is not a god, the Teacher is a God-giver.”
-Yogi Bhajan, 7/31/96
