Finding my Way to Kundalini Yoga: Victory is Within

By Teresa Lyles/Ajeet Kaur

I've had a lot of obstacles in life. I am a 45 year old beautiful thriving woman. However, that has not always been my mantra.

I grew up in the South: "Jesus is the way and only the Christians are right," "Do as I say, not as I do," and "Children were made to be seen and not heard." Shall I continue? You get the idea.

I now realize that I allowed others to "program me." It was about 5 years ago, that I took my first Kundalini Yoga class. When it was over, I just sat there and thought, "What the heck was that?”

So I went back, and I went back again. I started noticing a subtle change in my whole persona. I started recognizing how miserable I was in a dead end relationship that was completely one-sided. Valentine’s Day of 2013 (how ironic), there was a really bad experience in my home. I felt this courage come from deep inside of me and I said to myself, "This is it, I'm out.”

So, the next day, I contacted my realtor, sold the house and signed up for Teacher training. It changed my life. I am now changing the name and entire structure of my 15 year Massage and Spa business to "KUNDACONSCIOUS." My mission is for truth seekers like me to be set free from what society has told them to be; to recognize, release and reframe old patterns that have been stamped inside of us, possibly before birth; to let people know that no matter the circumstance, victory is within.

My number one revelation with this whole process is that I really get that God lives in me! I don’t have to behave in a certain way. I AM I AM. Once that is a realization, it becomes a natural way.

In the first chapter of the Teacher Training manual for the Aquarian Age, on page 8, says, "Religion as it has been known has become absolutely obsolete because in the past 5000 years religion has been teaching you to redeem your soul. Soul is already redeemed. What you should redeem is your being cheap, shallow, worthless, useless, not true to your words, not true to your commitment, and not true your character. That's what you should redeem."

As soon as I read this, I started to jump up and down yelling YES, YES, YES! So that is my mission: to equip people with the tools and formulas, freeing them from the constraints of man/themselves. I now understand the teachings of Jesus and know that HE was a major yogi. I understand the scripture that "God is Love." I embrace other beliefs and cultures now. I truly feel free to love and accept people, even if I don’t agree with them. That, my friend, is a beautiful feeling.
