Increasing the Power of Your Word in Prayer

There are aspects of speaking that can make a word effective or not. If you develop a habit to tap the energy of the navel with the tip of the tongue, then each word penetrates, whether you speak that word out loud or mentally. Often we speak and let the words run unconsciously off the tongue. It is like a detached information stream rather than an energy-filled phrase that grasps the heart and sculpts the cosmos.

This meditation increases the power of your word to use in prayer. The navel and the tip of the tongue have to be one for effective prayer. Your words become pure and prana-filled with this practice.

The Practice

Posture: Sit with erect spine.

Mudra: Hands are in Gian Mudra on the knees, or relaxed in the lap with the right hand resting in the left with both palms facing up.

Eyes: Not specified.

Mantra: There is no mantra for this meditation but you may want to play Tantric Har in the background for rhythmic support.

Breath: Inhale deeply, exhale and hold the breath out as long as comfortable. Then inhale deeply and immediately exhale again. As you hold the breath out, regularly pulse the navel point and the tip of the tongue together. Pull in the navel point and lift the tongue to strike the roof of the mouth at the same time. The tongue must snap up as the navel snaps inward. It is a small precise movement. The mouth may be closed or relaxed and slightly open. You can imagine the Har sounds but say nothing. Continue the breath pattern.
