Mata Mandir Singh Tells the Story Behind the Meditation for Peace

“This is a meditation that Yogiji told me would create a state of Peace on Earth. I asked him for this meditation on the brink of the first Iraq war on May 20, 2003. He told me to chant the Ajai Alai mantra with the five lines of the 'Let There Be Peace' mantra sung in between.

"Some may question how simply chanting a mantra can bring Peace. This goes to the practice of Naad Yoga, the Yoga of Sound. I believe that creating certain sound currents changes the brain chemistry of the individual chanting; and that sound penetrates physical matter and can transform molecular structure, thereby making it a unique tool for transformation.

"I composed some music and made a CD on a portable recorder and dragged it all over Europe wherever I was teaching and had nearly 100 people singing on it by the time I mixed it.

"As I get on in years I realize that at least I can pursue this meditation, at least by myself, and continue to create these vibrations in my environments and encourage as many people as possible to continue it until Peace arrives. In my opinion, there is no other work I could do that would be more worthy of my remaining breaths.

Thank you and let there be peace on Earth!”
