In today’s social media world, we are seeing a lot of people posting when they need help, are having a hard time or even when in crisis. You might see a lot of comments like “Sending love and light” or “Sending healing vibrations” or variations of the like.
This is all well and good WHEN that person takes the time to get off social media and then DO the sending of love, light and healing vibrations. It’s a powerful way to connect with each other and give relief where it is needed. In Kundalini Yoga, we have a lot of meditations that involve visualizations to fill ourselves, our communities, our world and the Universe up with light. We can even send light to those who have passed away.
I had an experience of being with my grandmother for 3 days and nights in the hospital before she passed away. Being a Kundalini teacher and healer, I meditated and “sent love and light to her.” I played Snatam Kaur’s Ra Ma Da Sa for three days in the background. Being who I am and having studied all I had, I had to do those things. It was natural to me. I couldn’t just sit and not meditate. That would have been unnatural. All of our studies lead us up to points in our lives where we are needed. I knew this was one of them.
A few years later, a trusted friend who happens to be a psychic medium connected with my grandmother on the other side. My grandmother thanked me for meditating and doing my healing work on her. People know when you really do send the love and light, so please keep doing it―for everyone and anyone. And take the time to pause. Stop what you are doing and make the effort. Be the Sat Nam you are learning to be!
