If we take judging ourselves and others out of our life, we will mostly be living in paradise.
All this creation—good and bad, yellow and brown, white and black, red and pink—has this all been created by an individual? Total creation is that of God and total creation is God, and to accept God is to accept total creation. And to accept that the total creation is that of God requires Sadhana, Sadhana, Sadhana.
There is a state of mind in which when somebody is negative to you, you do not become equally negative to him or her, you just tolerate it. And in that tolerance there is a very great patience; in that patience there is a great prayer. That prayer is: this neurotic idiot, this confused person, is, after all, your creation.
What is patience? Kindness, compassion, and tolerance. When this trinity of three gets mixed up in a blender, it makes a juice called patience.
Only if we do not misunderstand our way of life, “My way is the best way” and “This is the only way” and that kind of prejudice, may you have and believe life is a love, life is a giving, life is an understanding, life is a tolerance, life is a growth, and that together all that makes the life; then life is a happiness.
Humans are called the king of all living things because the greatest beauty which a human has is endurance. Continuity, endurance, patience, fulfillment—how can you turn around and say, “I am great,” if you have not gone through all the pressure, all the pain, all the prejudice, all the negativity?
There is no good and bad. There is no guilt, there is no sin. There is no wrong, there is no right. There is only our own insanity or our own meditative concentration.”
In your consciousness you have no such thing which is called tolerance. Your acceptance of God is limited. If you accept God, then you accept whatever God is. God is you plus, you like dislike, don't like, see, not see, seen, unseen and plus.
The strength of your judgment is the only enemy you have.
Love is the key to everything you are. Love is a total state of mind of tolerance. Total tolerance is love. Love has no limit. When it has a limit, then it is not love.
Excerpts from Relax and Rejoice: A Marriage Manual.
Tolerance is the secret of your depth. If you are tolerant, you can think right, and right thinking is your creative mind. Your creative mind is your charm, your makeup, your beauty, and your excellence.
You want to accept God but you don’t want what God did. How can you reconcile that? You want to accept the Creator, but you don’t want to accept the Creation. Impossible!
To me everything is a circus. Beyond this circus there is a stage of continuity—a continuous stage of fulfillment. The everlasting inflow of the spirit comes in and the everlasting flow of the spirit goes out. It is a state; it is a blue lagoon; it is a peace lagoon. There is a peace. In that peace there is a tolerance, an acceptance of the will of the God. There is obedience and there is a tremendous amount of patience.
Mannai kee gat kahee naa jaa-e
One who accepts, his grace cannot be denied.
(Guru Nanak, Japji)
The problem in your life is your lack of acceptance. The highest state of elevated consciousness is when you accept that you are a highly elevated conscious being.
You can't have love inside if you have hatred outside. Your hatred outside is your hatred inside. This ‘I’ has to be chopped off somehow and that is the achievement of a family or a community kind of living which we are practicing. That's why it is very important and very noble that you know how to live together, to be together, to understand together, have mutual respect, and no exploitation.
We should accept ourselves as we are, and God will bring us tomorrow. It is very painful to know that people are not willing to accept themselves. It is very graceful, very essential, very human, and very divine when you accept yourself. What is this game you play? You want to be perfect? What is perfect? Perfect is dead. Seen/unseen, existent/non-existent; when all the polarities come to the neutralized Self, that is perfect. We are vibrating people. We are perfectly imperfect and imperfectly perfect. That is the maximum that can be said about you.
You've got to accept everything, good, bad, better, best, rotten, or impossible. All is the property of God. On some chain link fences it says, "Property of U.S. Federal Government. Trespassing not allowed." Have you read that? On the roadside you'll find a simple plaque. You should put a plaque before your eyes. You should put a plaque on your ears. You should put a plaque on your mouth: "Property of Almighty God."
Do not criticize anybody. Everybody is good within his own atmosphere. Try to show your best nature. There are three types of people: fanatic, liberal, and lazy. Lazy are lazy because they are lazy. Fanatics have got hang-ups. They do not reach anywhere because they are stuck. They don't know what to do next. So whatever little they have, they feel it is their kingdom; they don't want to be disturbed and they don't want to enter into anybody's life. The liberal, the new age—the age of truth, these people want to know who they are, what they are, and why they are.
The wise man blames himself and finds the answer; the fool blames others.
Marriage Manual, vol. 2 p. 103
Every day of your life your tolerance should be ready to cope with your circumstances. You must produce enough tolerance to face any day.
"I need tolerance, tolerance come on. Tolerance—report!" If you say "Tolerance, tolerance, tolerance," tolerance will be with you. If you call on a smile, a smile will be with you. Call on life and it will come to you quite naturally.
Let us not cause pain to each other by our shallowness, by our duality, by our belittleness. Let us become as vast as God is and hug each other, love each other. It is in that heart of us that we all live. It is the beat of the heart which is common among us. It is the breath of life which is common among us. It is the Creator in us which is common among us. So we are all one, like one sun. We are all the rays.
On each road we live and walk and there are homes on each road. State of God is in all of us and that is what is a spiritual abode. In that oneness we have loved each other. All religions getting together and sitting together and talking together, singing together, being together is a unique experience.
What is hatred? Frustrated love is called hatred. What is a lie? Insecure truth is a lie. If you analyze everything, it is all truth or knowledge, the highest state of gyan. The enemy is agyanta, ignorance.
People do not recognize human beings, they recognize like: this is black, this is pink, this is yellow, this is this, this is that. We are still very narrow-minded individuals. Our mind is not vast.
Be what you want to be, but be real, don't be ritualistic. Religion is religio, that's the origin. And it has to be reality, not ritual. You know why we are fighting? I have a different ritual, you have a different ritual, now we fight on rituals. Neither I know reality, nor you know reality—in reality we are one, in consciousness we are one.
Fanatics have no open heart. They have no tolerance. They have no self-service. They do not understand that even the worst person in life is not a challenge, it is an opportunity to serve. It is our test of our openness, our love, our affection, to reach out to people.
We do not or cannot or will not live with each other, because normally we say our chemistry doesn't exist; our things do not tally. Understand that in the infinite sense of existence, we have to exist with each other, no matter what. There is no love lost between two people if they forget and forgive and be kind and compassionate and caring.
Whenever you need tolerance, call on it. Do this experiment: Close your eyes and call on your tolerance. You will feel it come to you. Tolerance is a substance; it is an object. The hypothalamus can produce it, meditation can give it to you, but you have to call on it.
Fanatic is the enemy of religion he believes in. The fanatic is so narrow-minded, his tolerance for another person is absolutely gone.
Greetings are very valuable, meeting people is very valuable, shaking hands and hugging them with the heart is very valuable and this costs nothing but your ego.
You have to learn the art of tolerance up to the infinite degree. You have to learn the art of communication to the infinite degree. You have to learn the art of instant forgiveness. Show no sign, show no reaction, show absolutely nothing of you but your virtue.
We are such narrow-minded people. We are so limited as human beings. I have not understood one thing: which one is the one who has created these black guys, and who created the white guys? I mean who has that bleaching powder that bleaches you out? With all this spirituality, we are honorable judges to see under the skin.
Self shall be tested. You have to stand for your own self in the age of truth. You have to understand how to love; you have to understand how to tolerate the other man's point of view.
There is nobody who is special. Everything is created by the one Creator and you are a temporary custodian of that situation. This is the message of the Aquarian Age. Everyone has to learn to change.
What good is the religion of that person who is full of anger in himself? His mind is clouded. There is no room for the spirit. A person with a hidden, glowing anger can have no religion. A person with fear and a building insecurity has no religion. A coward has no religion. A person attached and covered in earth has no religion. The Mind
With the most corrupt person, you can be honest; with the most angry person, you can be cool; and with the most insulting person, you can be graceful. If the balance of your personality and your sensitivity can remain under your control and your projection, you have learned the art of living.
If we squeeze down, close down ourselves, and start judging and punishing and laying rules on each other, all we are creating is fear. We can only win by love. Love has no, no, no side. Love is not a box. Love doesn't mean that you love somebody and you can put somebody in a box and close the lid. Love is an openness of heart, vastness of mind, and the brightness of the soul.
For centuries our religious tolerance is so bad that we have killed millions of people on just ethnic cleansing. So in this world we are acquiring a peace, a mental peace, a satisfaction of individual grace. Human grace has to be respected by the human himself and by the humanity in general. That is what we are seeking. We are seeking a grace where we can welcome with our divinity those who do not have divinity. If, in the Age of Aquarius, man cannot welcome the more condemned man, man has not risen from his beast. If man cannot welcome the most unwanted living thing, man has not considered his consciousness as infinite.
Let us not waste our time in hatred and pulling each other down and trying to control. If I want to give something to somebody, forgive. Forgiveness is the biggest gift you can give to yourself and to others. That is the way to go. Please understand that we are all one for one God, for one clay of the five elements. Our existence is for oneness, in duality we lose everything, in oneness we find the reality.
When a totally complete, comfortable happy man touches an unhappy man, he brings happiness. Life is a sharing. We share our sorrows and we share our happiness. And if somebody is in sorrow, and we pour our happiness into that person, we make him happy. For that we need clarity of mind. We need the strength of the soul. We need enlargement of our point of view. We need tolerance. We need courage.
If you see this as bad and this is good, you have already divorced fifty percent of you. And if you can deny fifty percent of you, you can deny one hundred percent of you. When they say don't judge, that's exactly what they mean, don't judge.
