Service Exchanges Area Manager positions are a way to take your experience of service to the next level. It is helpful for Managers to be able to make a longer term commitment to their position. An IWC Service Exchange Area Manager’s service commitment includes, but is not limited to:
- Daily staff meetings
- Preparation for IWC before the event (via phone or email)
- Building your team of Service Exchange members and outlining your Karma Yogi needs
- Managing your Service Exchange members and Karma Yogis during IWC
A Service Exchange Area Manager’s time commitment is “whatever it takes.” As a Service Exchange Area Manager, your experience is intense and focused in your area of service. Events Assistant
This is a manager position with key leadership responsibilities. As the right-hand of the IWC coordinator, your position will require covering any aspect of camp when and where it’s needed–before, throughout and after the camp. You are available to campers in a way that deeply supports their experience and allows them to feel grounded and happy and heard while at camp. You may be able to attend much of the camp programming while performing your duties, however your primary responsibility will be supporting the Camp Coordinator as things arise–and they will! This is a great opportunity to learn, in the moment, how an event of this scale is put together. You must be able to handle, even thrive, in high pressure situations.
The Events Assistant is responsible for filling and supervising the following service exchange positions/teams:
- Van Drivers (3)
Requirements:
- Have a US or International Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Arrive at camp and be prepared to start work by 9: 00 a.m., Friday, June 22.
- Service is complete after camp is dismantled, Tuesday, July 3, approximately 1 pm.
- Work with the IWC Coordinator before the event (via phone and email) as needed.
Grounds Manager
The Grounds Manager works with the Grounds Crew to take care of the basic needs of the camp: stocking restrooms with toilet paper, replacing light bulbs, cleaning showers, moving items around camp, managing garbage and recycling and other tasks as needed.
The Grounds Manager should be energetically available and effective at accomplishing the tasks required to keep the camp running.
Requirements:
- Arrive and be ready to work by 9am Saturday, June 23.
- Serve until Sunday July 1, when camp closes (approximately noon).

The grounds manager is responsible for filling and supervising the following service exchange teams:
- Grounds Crew (3)
The grounds manager is also responsible for supervising and leading the Grounds Maintenance Karma Yoga group.
Healthcare Manager
The Healthcare Manager is on-call throughout IWC for any first-aid emergencies or situations that arise. The Healthcare manager should be a medical doctor, nurse, nurse practitioner, EMT or a paramedic who is currently licensed in New Mexico or another U.S. state who may legally perform medical or nursing functions in New Mexico.
Requirements

Karma Yoga Manager
The Karma Yoga Manager works with the IWC Coordinator to organize the various Karma Yoga needs of camp. She will create a master sign up sheet for the Registration Manager before the event begins. The Karma Yoga Manager also works directly with the Karma Yoga groups to make sure jobs are understood and being completed. This job also requires enthusiasm and ability to excite others about the transformational aspects of Karma Yoga.

Kitchen Manager
The Kitchen Manager works with the head cook to make sure all kitchen needs are covered, including scheduling Service Exchange participants for all necessary shifts, monitoring and ordering kitchen supplies as needed, and coordinating dishwashing.
She is responsible for the kitchen from 6:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. each day, including overseeing the preparation of breakfast and making sure it arrives to the table on time. She is responsible for communicating with those with special dietary needs, the shoppers, camp staff, and other campers in order to assure comfortable and smooth communication between the kitchen and the camp.
An interest in food; experience with kitchens and managing staff; the ability to stay balanced under pressure; a positive, easy communication style; and a true desire to make such a commitment to the camp are a must!
Requirements:
- Arrive at camp and be ready to work by 9: 00 a.m., Friday June 22nd
- Serve until after kitchen is dismantled, Sunday, July 1, approximately 3 p.m.

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for filling and supervising the following service scholarship teams:
- Kitchen Team (7)
- Kitchen Set up/ Break Down (3)
- Yogi Tea (2)
The Kitchen Manager also supervises and leads the Karma Yoga Kitchen Crew.
Multimedia Manager
The Multimedia Manager is responsible for coordinating many technical elements of the IWC experience. They work with the Sound Team to set up, run and troubleshoot all sound and video equipment for classes.
Requirements
- Experience with Sound/AV equipment required.
- Experience with photo/video equipment helpful.
- Arrive and be ready to work by 9am Saturday, June 23.

The Multimedia Manager is responsible for filling and supervising the following service exchange teams:

Programming Manager
The Programming Manager is responsible for keeping the daily schedule running smoothy: greeting teachers and musicians as they show up, making sure they understand which location they’re in, ringing the bell 10 minutes before class and at the start of class, posting the schedule each day, helping to troubleshoot if there are no-shows or other unexpected circumstances, answering teacher/musician questions and taking care of any needs they may have, and helping to coordinate campers and vehicles on the hike day.
It means being energetically available and effective at doing what needs to be done to keep the camp program moving in a smooth and healthy way. It also means being able to gracefully manage your team and request help when needed.
The Program Manager is responsible for filing and supervising the Programming Service Exchange Captain.

- Serve until Sunday July 1, after teachers and musicians have vacated site (approximately noon).

Registration Manager
The Registration Manager is responsible for setting up and running the On-Site Registration area. This includes being available during the Summer Solstice Sadhana Celebration to complete registration for any last minute participants.
Registration set-up includes making sure that all signs, snacks, drinks, benches, chairs, forms, and everything else needed are present for our first big registration day, and preparing the area that will be used for registration throughout camp.
Throughout the week of camp the Registration Manager will be in the main teaching tent at the start of each class to pleasantly and efficiently check in all women arriving on-site with day passes or registering late for class in order to register and collect money from each of them; to take care of refunds or clerical errors, and to communicate daily with our 3HO bookkeeper to keep this process on track. During breakdown, she will make sure that all items in the registration area are properly stored or removed from the area, and that all accounts are clear and have been addressed with our 3HO bookkeeper.
While the Registration Manager is ‘on’ all throughout camp, her location assures that she misses very little class time. This position works closely with the 3HO Registration Director.
Requirements
- Prior experience working IWC registration is strongly encouraged.
- This job requires that you have excellent math skills, have solid customer service skills and are fluent in English. Bilingual–English and Spanish is a plus.
- Arrive and be prepared to start working by 9am on Friday June 22nd.
- Serve until after breakdown of your area is complete on Sunday July 1st, approximately 3pm

Sadhana/Gurdwara Manager
The Sadhana/Gurdwara Manager is responsible for creating and filling the schedule for all aspects of sadhana during IWC (Japji, Yoga set, musicians). They are also on call during sadhana each day to facilitate transitions and troubleshoot and make last minute arrangements as needed.

Set Up/Break Down Manager
The Set Up/Break Down Manager is a highly organized individual who lists and tracks all tasks and items needed for the set-up and take-down of IWC. This job includes helping manage the Setup/Breakdown Crew and completing inventories for all items as they come out of the sheds and later as they go back in. Tasks may also include light carpentry/handyman type work. She will work closely with the Women’s Camp Coordinator.
Requirements
- Prior experience of some kind doing setup/breakdown at IWC required.
- She must be able to easily and pleasantly delegate tasks to workers and track the progress of tasks.
- She must work well under high-pressure, time-sensitive situations.
- Arrive and be ready to work by 9am., Friday, June 22.
- Serve until camp is completely closed Monday, July 2 (approximately 3pm)
- The Set Up/Break Down Manager is free to attend all events during IWC.
