“The idea is to create a woman of the Age of Aquarius.”

Sat Nam dear divine women,
Yogi Bhajan was extraordinarily inspired by the strength and the grace of his own mother and grandmother. He observed them guiding his family, the relatives, and the village affairs with wisdom, clarity and grace. He studied his mother as she maintained her nobility when they walked out of their home in Pakistan and then, starting over from nothing, re-established her family in India. With courage and dignity, these two women guided him to live by the highest values and still maintain compassion for others. These women were his authentic, personal examples of the depth and strength of women.
Upon his arrival in the West, he was shocked that women were called “chicks.” In 1976, he launched the first “Women in Training” camp under the blue skies of New Mexico. He said that women must learn the ancient sacred yogic technology so they could grow up to become “eagles that fly to the heavens!”

Each summer for twenty-nine years, Yogi Bhajan called women from around the globe to join him at the Mother Ashram in Espanola, New Mexico, for the Khalsa Women’s Training Camp. He shared unique Kundalini Yoga sets and meditations specifically for women. He taught every day, sometimes even three times in one day! He repeated his same empowering message until all the women present felt its impact and transformed themselves through it.
Every year we uncovered amazing new dimensions of our limitless potential as he challenged us! Sometimes our self-defined limits where confronted by an all-night meditation, or a hike in the hot New Mexico sun, by serving guests on his ranch, or by PT (heavy physical training exercises).

We returned home with our spirits uplifted ― overflowing with tools for success, real experience of our deep grit, awakened caliber, and a renewed identity of grace and power as well as practical tools we can use every day for maintaining our radiance and excellence as a woman, and for our roles of wife, a mother or professional. Yogi Bhajan said that EVERY woman is able to live in her excellence every day.
“Once you accept your own dignity the whole world will come to you. You have to do first things first. If you do not accept your own dignity as a woman, all decorations and all facilities shall mean nothing. It has nothing at all to do with any man or with any relationship.”
Yogi Bhajan, Women’s Camp, July 1, 1996
Each summer it is our joy and privilege to welcome you to Women’s Camp at the Mother Ashram in Espanola New Mexico to camp together under the tall cottonwoods, and experience the exhilaration of the full program of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation, Bangra dance, joyful chanting, Yogi Bhajan video classes, and incredible elective classes that fill each day. On our day hiking trips in the magical New Mexican desert mountains you will experience the enchantment of “God’s Country.”

Yogi Bhajan left a large legacy of teachings specifically for women. Actually he taught more hours on women, and the multiple dimensions of her changing life, than any other subject. This precious gift has inspired countless women from every walk of life around the globe, no matter how confused or difficult their life may be to triumph over the tests of the times and live in their own excellence. He planted the seed of Women’s Camp and gave women of the Aquarian Age the priceless tools of these teachings.
“I hope on my last mile of life, before I close these worldly eyes, I’ll see some of you grown up enough to carry the banner and grace. One day I will not be sitting on that pedestal teaching you. On that day it will fall on your shoulders to carry on the teachings, the practices and the practical. That day you will be very proud to be women. That day, when you commit your character, dignity, divinity and grace, will bring you the total polarity: to be top priority in your life and your purity will touch your heart. That is the way you will become the Khalsa woman and be the pride of the planet earth. That will be the era of peace.”
Yogi Bhajan, Women’s Camp, July 4, 1990
Today these unique Women’s Camps, based on the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, are sprouting up all around the globe. The longing of women to gather together with their sisters, outside of their daily routine, to focus on awaking their spirit and learning practical and inspiring yogic technology has become more than a trend. It has become a necessity. Often women tell us, “I never learned this at home or at school. I am so grateful that I can discover this now!”

In the spirit of Yogi Bhajan’s teachings and our own experience, we have created Women’s Camp 2007, and we invite you to join us and some very radiant inspiring women.
Kundalini Yoga teachers are organizing local Women’s Camps and inspiring their students and friends to celebrate the power and grace of being women. Check on the 3HO WOMEN website for other listings at women.3ho.org. Some camps are one week long like the Espanola Women’s Camp, while others are just a weekend and others are only one day.
We hope that you will be inspired to attend at least one, or more each year. You owe it to yourself!
“I need to regroup my energies twice a year and go to a Women’s Camp. My family notices the difference, too.” Siri Prakash Kaur, California.
We are looking forward to be with you. Come be with us. Sat Nam.
Blessings, The 3HO Women's Camp Team
