According to the yogic tradition, here are a few things that a woman can do daily in order to maintain her health and radiance.

To prepare yourself to meet the challenges of the day with utmost mental clarity, physical stamina and spiritual awareness, start the day with morning sadhana. Sadhana means a daily spiritual practice. According to the yogic tradition, the most precious and spiritually productive hours of the day are 2 ½ hours before sunrise called the ambrosial hours. Yogi Bhajan has given a specific daily sadhana to follow that includes yoga and meditation. But any combination of spiritual activities that work for you will benefit your well being. Make a commitment to your sadhana and watch the positive impact on your life.

Hydro-therapy and Cold Showers

According to the yogic tradition, massaging yourself under a cold shower helps to build your resistance to colds, flu and hay fever. It gives you strong nerves and will make you glow. This hydro-therapy will oxygenate your organs, flush capillaries, and release toxins from the tissues. This is one of the basics for radiance.

To take a cold shower, first massage yourself with almond oil, which neutralizes toxins. Then, get under the cold water and massage your body vigorously. Give extra attention to the underarms and the breasts - circulation here can help to prevent breast cancer. Step out of the stream of water and massage rapidly. Then repeat 3 times. Towel dry by rubbing hard and fast.

During your menstrual cycle you can skip the cold shower and sit in a hot bath up to your navel, until your forehead sweats, and then rinse with cool water.
