The
job of the Teacher is to challenge the student
to establish his or her own experience with their
soul. This is often not a comfortable process because
facets of the student’s personality and ego
can interfere. The Master’s job is not to
be kind or to coddle. As Yogi Bhajan explained,
the Teacher must poke the ego, provoke it into
a reaction, confront it with its own limits, and
them, most importantly, elevate it. Only a true
Master can guide the student all the way through
this process, because he has been through the experience
himself. It is the ultimate act of compassion and
selflessness for a Master to create another Master.
That is what Yogi Bhajan is all about.
That is what Self Mastery is all about. |
