This is the basic diet for children and teens, although there is always some variation.
In addition to the camp breakfast and dinner meals, special consideration is provided to children, teens, babies, and nursing mothers for delicious vegetarian snacks and special lunches during the solstice children’s camp program. Menus change daily and include options for children with allergies to wheat, soy, and dairy.
Check your Program Guide when you arrive to find out where meals will be served.
Snack Menus include juice and Emergen-C, and two or more of the following: snack bars, apples, grapes, cherries, carrots, celery, chips, crackers, pirate’s booty, cookies, veggie jerky, string cheese, squeezable yogurt, and licorice bars.
Lunch Menus include pasta (wheat free options available) with tomato sauce, veggie dogs, burritos, tofu sandwiches, and make-your-own tacos. Lunch is always served with juice and two or more of the above snack items. Lunch and snacks for children and teens are served on all days of the children’s camp program.
Babies and Toddlers
A wide range of snack items are available for babies, toddlers, and nursing mothers at all times in the baby’s trailer and the toddler’s tent, including cow and goat dairy items such as milk, yogurt, and cheese.
If children have missed scheduled snack or meal times, it is possible that accommodations may be made by the kitchen host.
