Form healthy habits
For thousands of people, controlling their diet is one of life’s biggest challenges. It’s a daily battle of will power versus compulsion and habit. There are two kinds of eating: recreational eating--for taste or to be sociable and “eating to live”--to nourish, sustain, and energize the body. What and how we eat affects us physically, mentally, and emotionally. A yogic diet is a balanced combination of fruits, nuts, vegetables, grains, legumes, and dairy products. A yogic diet is rich in proteins, vitamins and minerals and is based on what can be digested in 24 hours, which does not include meat, fish, poultry or eggs.

Trinity Roots: onion, garlic, & ginger
When asked about a potent life, Yogi Bhajan said: “The three roots-garlic, onion, and ginger-will maintain you through the times and through the age.” These fascinating, mystical, and tasty roots are essential to a healthy diet for cleansing, sustaining, and producing energy in the body.

The Hidden Ingredient
A most healing and effective ingredient in the food you cook is the VIBRATION you put into it. This for real. When you pray and chant over food while you cook it, you enhance its power to nourish and heal.

Guidelines for Healthful Digestion and Elimination
1. Eat to live, don’t live to eat.
2. Avoid snacking between meals, and eat fewer meals.
3. Eat only when hungry.
4. Chew well; your stomach has no teeth.
5. Stop eating when you’re three-fourths full.
6. Rest after every meal.
7. Don’t eat after sunset.
8. Eat only what you can eliminate within 24 hours.
9. Once a week, give your digestive system a rest.
10. If you can’t digest it and eliminate it, don’t eat it.

If, by mistake you eat too much, sit in Rock Pose, Vajar Asan, for a few minutes after eating. It is said that one can digest rocks by sitting in this posture.
