about the Mahan tantric

There is only one Mahan Tantric, Master of White Tantric Yoga®, at any given time. White Tantric Yoga® was a tradition passed on from teacher to student in a mystical and selective way.1

The authority to be the Mahan Tantric was bestowed on Yogi Bhajan in 1971, when the presiding Mahan Tantric, Lama Lilan Po of Tibet, passed from his body. As a pioneer of the Aquarian Age, Yogi Bhajan decided to open White Tantric Yoga® to anyone who wanted this powerful experience.1

Until 1986, Yogi Bhajan traveled throughout the world presenting as many as thirty workshops each year to thousands of students. In 1987, using his unique abilities as Master, together with modern technology, he began to present White Tantric Yoga® as a video-taped series. He said the tapes would continue to have the same effect when he was no longer in his physical body. This has proved true, and since Yogi Bhajan passed from his physical body in October, 2004, thousands of students have confirmed that their Tantric experience is one of being in his presence.*

Most energy we experience is either perpendicular or horizontal. Tantric energy is diagonal.2 The Mahan Tantric guides the diagonal energy using his subtle body. The tantric energy travels in a zig-zag pattern up and down the rows of the participants. As it moves, it penetrates and breaks up the blocks of anger, guilt, and fear buried in our subconscious.2

White Tantric Yoga® should not be confused with black or red tantric. Those forms of yoga also transform energy, but in a different way and for different purposes. Black tantric directs the energy to manipulate another human being and red tantric directs the energy solely for sexual purposes.1
