Women's Day

For the women of the world, International Women’s Day is an occasion to celebrate how far we have come in the struggle for equality and to unite, network, and mobilize for meaningful change.

3HO© whole-heartedly supports and celebrates this cause, as our lifestyle is largely based on acknowledging the grace and dignity of all women. Yogi Bhajan often said that the state of a nation is reflected in the face of its women. He claimed that that when men of the world respect women, there will be peace on the planet. He spent every summer teaching women to become self-empowered and to sense the unlimited creative power that lies within all women.

Yogi Bhajan spent the better part of 30 years trying to get women to see who and what they really are—creative, sacred, and invincible. He was baffled by the language used to refer to women—as “chicks”—and he turned it on its head by declaring that he would turn chicks into eagles.

Our security as women doesn’t come from anything outside ourselves. It comes from within; it comes from our connection to the Infinite which gives us the strength and wisdom to be who we really are. In our vastness we can contain our world—not control it. The simple act of prayerfully holding the world together is our greatest virtue. We are the creators and we have the power to change the world by changing ourselves.

3HO offers a special global meditation, class curriculum, and suggested seva projects to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8.
