Welcome to the world of 3HO
Global Teachers Council (GTC)
IKYTA Professional Members - Invitation to Participate!
Dear Kundalini Yoga Teachers of North America,
Sat Nam and warm greetings! Your 3HO International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association (IKYTA) hopes that this sacred solstice-holiday season has been a time of joy and renewal for both you and your loved ones.
During the last few years, IKYTA has been working with teachers from all over the world to explore and develop graceful and efficient ways for us to work together in strength and unity. Through the collective efforts of an international team of teachers working over the course of many months the idea of a Global Teachers Council (GTC) has been developed. See Reference Info below. Kindly be aware that the information below is part of the large working draft about the organizational design of IKYTA. We expect that this document will continue to evolve and develop in time. Right now, however, it represents our starting place. I invite you to see, I invite you to see, read and study the complete document..
We are now in the next stage of the development process where we are asking for an IKYTA member from the North American region (US, Canada, Mexico, which also includes Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Costa Rica) to serve and participate on the GTC.
If, after reading the background information, you would like to serve as a North American regional member of the Global Teachers Council (GTC), please send the following information to IKYTA, GurukaKaur@3HO.org, on or before January 30, 2009:
- Your Name and Basic Contact Information (include telephone, postal mailing and e-mail address)
- Tell us how long you have been a teacher of Kundalini Yoga and an IKYTA member
- Your resume (include educational background)
- Tell us in a paragraph what you feel that you can bring to the Global Teachers Council (approximately 100 words)
- Tell us also your vision for IKYTA in the next 2 - 3 years (approximately 100 words)
- Please provide the names and contact information of two references in regard to your service as a teacher of Kundalini Yoga (other Kundalini Yoga teachers or trainers)
REMEMBER: IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SERVE ON THE GLOBAL TEACHERS COUNCIL, WE MUST HEAR BACK FROM YOU BY FRIDAY, JANUARY 30, 2009. If you have any questions, please contact Guruka Kaur directly at 505-629-1707.
Once these self-nominations are received by the IKYTA office, a diversified team of 5 teachers from North America will select one member. You may also be considered to fill an additional second seat on the Global Teachers Council. (In the future we will have an election process. As Yogi Bhajan taught us, we want to create a balance of election and selection process to keep a balance of continuity and innovation in the GTC.)
The IKYTA Working Team that developed this concept and document (with input from hundreds of teachers around the world) are very excited about the future of your teachers association -- IKYTA. We really look forward to hearing from you and we encourage your participation!
Thank you and all blessings to you and your family in 2009!
Yours in Service,
Guruka Kaur
IKYTA Executive Director
