Quote of the Week
In the spiritual world of meditation, in the grace of the union of yoga, in the excellence of the swami, in the creativity of the naad, in the grace of the saint, and the totality of God, an individual who can transform himself from "I" to "we" has achieved the purpose of life in the here, and hereafter.

Healing the Body, Mind and Soul
Choosing a Meditation
There is a myth that when you sit down you should be able to quiet your mind, The mind generates thousands of thoughts per second. When you sit quietly and turn the focus inward, you become very aware of what is going on in the background of your mind. Distractions are the rule. Just keep going back to the mantra or other points of focus. Do not evaluate or react to the extraneous thoughts. Let them be processed by the mantra. The mind never stops, but you can create a stillness, a calm, which will serve you all through your life.
Have patience with yourself. Perhaps at first you will achieve only a minute or two of fully focused meditation. Trust the process.

Healing Recipe
Turmeric Chapatis
1 part whole wheat flour
2 parts besan (garbanzo flour)
onion juice
lots of chopped garlic and ginger
Combine flours. Add enough onion juice to make a soft dough, mixing well. It should not be very sticky. Add ginger and garlic and mix well. Roll out into circles about 7-8" in diameter and a bit thicker than a usual chapati. Place on a baking sheet, and bake at about 375-400°F until well done.
Spread the cooked chapatis with a paste of turmeric, ground cloves, sesame seeds (or a little sesame oil) and honey.
About the Trinity Roots - Garlic, Ginger & Onions
Onion, Ginger & Garlic are known as the Trinity Roots, and are essential for maintaining a healthy and energetic system. Ginger is for the nervous system, and helps when you are feeling flu or colds coming on, and is very energizing. Garlic enhances semen production and maintains potency. Onions purify the blood.

Sat Nam,
After a short but sweet stay at the Mother Ashram in Española, NM I am now back in New York. My visit in Espanola was very special. I participated in early morning Sadhana, which begins at 3:45 am every day; I went to the Thursday Community Langar (free meal) and played ultimate Frisbee which happens every Sunday.
Also while there, I had the chance to be present in the 3HO office and I am excited to announce that starting this week 3HO Women will re-release their free electronic mailing service. Previously by the name of Women's Tidbits, Yogic Technology for Women a weekly correspondence will be focused on the conscious woman, and is open to anyone who eager to learn more about the divine feminine. You can sign up for this and any other mailing by clicking on the picture above or by visiting 3HO.org. The first Yogic Technology for Women will be going out today and it is entitled Healthy Almonds.
Hope that everything is bright in your day.
