The Siri Singh Sahib (Yogi Bhajan) taught us that love is infinite, it is an experience of selflessnes and cannot be selfish. When we are above physical love and come to spiritual love, then our physical body does not crave anything, you have only longing for the spiritual. Just as Guru Arjan Dev wrote in Shabad Hazary, when he longed to merge with his Guru.

Maeraa man lochai gur dharasan thaaee ~ My mind longs for the Blessed Vision of the Guru’s Darshan.
Bilap karae chaathrik kee niaaee ~ It cries out like the thirsty song-bird.

Our whole essence is a discipline and our highest point in discipline is to be in love with others and carry them with our head and our heart. Guru Nanak taught us taught us that true love is a devotion so utterly complete, we give of ourselves in totality:

Je tohi prem khelan da chav, sir dhar tali gali mori aav ~ If you want to play this game of love, put your head on your palm and then walk with me.
Je it maarag pair dharijai, sir dijai kaan no dijai ~ If you set your feet upon this path, do not vacillate, even at the risk of your life.

Guru Nanak knew that we came from infinity, and yet we become distracted from the longing of our soul to live in that reality and that truth. The greatest blunder we can commit is to think that mind and soul belong to us. They are infinite, they belong to the infinite. We have to understand, our life is not ours, it is given to us to experience the love of God, to live, to give, to serve everyone. The body may forget things but as long as we breathe in this body, our soul does not forget its journey. All actions come from the breath of life and we all breathe the same breath of life. We are all strung like beads on one breath of life, one truth, which is everywhere. That is how Universal we are.

When we rise up in the morning to recite Bani and do the Sadhana, all the angels, the saints and sages come to listen. Out of their love, their souls fly to those places to listen where God’s Name is chanted. It is written in the book of the heavens of God that we shall be born on this Earth at this time. We have learned the technology to raise the consciousness of the human being and thus we will serve the human beings in bounty, in grace, unto infinity.

The Siri Singh Sahib trained us to be teachers in the Age of Aquarius. We must build our character first, care about ourselves, be kind to ourselves, be compassionate to ourselves, hold firmly to our commitment to destiny. Only then do we have the resources to love. In our commitment is the essence of the flow of spirit. In our commitment we establish our identity. Without commitment, we do not know ourselves and cannot possibly understand love.

Let us give ourselves a chance to be lofty, graceful, gorgeous, radiant, and real as the purveyors of God’s love.

Excerpts from her remarks on her 52^nd birthday, Summer Solstice 6/19/81

There was a time when I knew everyone in our 3HO family by name. Now when I see you, I have to say, “Please tell me your name.” But whether you realize it or not, we are all very closely linked together as part of this divine family.

Yogi Bhajan is a builder of people, he is a Teacher of teachers. He is seeing a long way ahead. He is seeing what we can become. He is the sculptor and we are the raw material. We do not like the hacking and the chipping and the pounding, but what can come out of it is going to be beauty and grace. We can’t expect it to not be painful. He wields that chisel with total love, with total compassion, with total impersonality. He has a universal love which is so vast that it can encompass each and every one of us equally.

It’s a big ego trip to be depressed. It’s a big ego trip to think you are no good. It is a big ego trip to think, “I can’t live up to this or that,” because if you can just get your ego out of the way, God can work with anyone. Each one of us is unique and special and valuable. And we are here on this planet among these billions of souls to do something. Here we all are today in this incredible Land of Enchantment[1] with the greatest spiritual teacher in the whole world. And all we have to do is just get our egos out of the way, open up our hearts, open up our ears, and actually follow his advice.

The most incredible caliber of people belong to 3HO. There is nothing like us anywhere. I realize that we are few in numbers compared to the billions of people on the planet, but do you realize what a tremendous impact we few are making, and can make? We are a whole culture, we are a new era and we are the pioneers of the Aquarian Age and we are building a spiritual family. And each one of you is vitally important to that; don’t sell yourselves short, you wouldn’t be here today if you weren’t to be a part of this. Nothing happens by accident, everything is according to God’s plan.

We are all very, very blessed to be here, we belong to each other. We have a lot of problems to work out, none of us has yet made it. So we have to accept ourselves as we are and yet try to improve. Don’t feel bad about yourself, look to the divinity within but mainly just keep up, “If you keep up, you will be kept up.” Yogi Bhajan

Shakti Parwha Kaur Khalsa was Yogi Bhajan’s first student in the United States. He gave her the title of Divine Mother of 3HO. She has been teaching Kundalini Yoga since 1969. She is the author of Kundalini Yoga: The Flow of Eternal Power; Kundalini Postures and Poetry; and Marriage on the Spiritual Path: Mastering the Highest Yoga. She is a frequent movie-goer in the City of Angels.

We started a healthy, happy, holy way of life, and that became 3HO. It is a dream come true. It is a very pure path in which every human was worshipped equally. Everybody is a potential teacher. There is no ‘yes’ and ‘no’, rather there is a set discipline to follow.

We built a foundation called the 3HO Foundation: a Healthy, Happy, Holy Organization of people. The first song I sang was, “We are the people, the people of love, let us people love today.” Certain little things started happening in a very unique way with all of you. All of those who have left, all who are with me, who shall be with me, or who shall leave me, all play a very important role in the development of 3HO—a lifestyle of the Age of Aquarius where humans shall be first and foremost purely human, and will do everything graciously.

I came with nothing and I shall leave with nothing. I own everything as though I own nothing. It shall all belong to the generations now and to come. I have just played a role as a custodian and a caretaker. I have taken ownership with a great perfection. My basic idea is very simple: don’t let anybody down, don’t let yourself down, and don’t participate directly or indirectly in any letdown.

That shall be the legacy of 3HO. A group of young people had the will to conquer the times, and made a space for themselves in history. Time could not conquer them. And this is not a small thing, in spite of what you may think. This 3HO shall be the most important legacy on this planet for the Age of Aquarius. Sooner or later people will experience a tremendous amount of emptiness which always brings a void. A void brings unhappiness. Then people will want to find a place where they can be healthy, happy, and holy. It all fits in.

Who could have dreamt that after twenty-five years we would be what we are today? With all the heaven and hell we have gone through, we have survived with a very unique pride with which we have walked tall in the face of the entire Universe. Today anywhere you go you will find that this is a living legacy which is not only for now, not only for the next one hundred years, but for the coming two thousand years of the Age of Aquarius, when mankind will find shelter in the 3HO way of life. And then, you who are here now, who are just considered to be a handful of people, shall be considered as the most Divine. Isn’t it amazing?

This small little thing, which was started to give people a way of life, with love and dedication, shall prevail in the coming change of the Age. All the energy which poured in to build this foundation, to me is a wonderful experience.

2012 marks the end of a 26,000 year astrological period as recognized by many of the ancient wisdom traditions. It has been prophesied that our world will NOT end it will be spiritually transformed.

We have seen many changes in 2011 on both the global and personal fronts. Civil uprising in the middle east and now in North America with the Occupy Movements; earthquakes and other earth changes; and increased solar activity. Some keywords for this coming time are enlightenment, truth, hope, peace, awakening, awareness, intuition and love.

A lot of people ask, “How can I Prepare for 2012?

You will need all of your Energy here in the Present Moment to manage the vast changes coming in this NEW AGE. As humans our energy can get locked in the past – feeding old stories, memories and false beliefs about ourselves with our attention.

One thing you can do is to  Let Go of anything that is no longer serving your highest potential–anything that is no longer true for you. AND only YOU know what you need to let go of.

5 Ways to Prepare for 2012

1. Reflect on your own Personal Changes in 2011

This year you may have experienced a new career, a  new baby, death of a loved one, relocated to a new home, been divorced or separated, suffered a health crisis, had money issues, a legal dispute, a New ____?

Take time to honor all of these experiences, people and challenges that have brought you to the person you are in this very moment. Are there any grudges or resentments that you are holding on to? Writing a list or letters of forgiveness will help release the past from your psyche.

2. Gratitude for the Angels in Disguise
Bring gratitude to those people who brought the most upset into your life – your so-called ‘enemies.’ Our enemies can be our medicine. These problem people are often angels in disguise. It is our enemies that force us to change and grow, not our friends. Bring gratitude to all the challenges you faced in 2011. These experiences are gifts from the Universe that are making you stronger and removing anything that is not in Truth for you. Write letters of gratitude to these angels.

3. Turn ‘Fix Yourself’ into ‘Accept Yourself’ – You are Perfect
Most New Year’s resolutions come from thoughts that we are broken and need to be fixed. Instead of focusing on your flaws, focus on your strengths. Learn to accept the parts of yourself you don’t like. Find the gift in these qualities. Real change comes from the necessary first step of acceptance of all parts of the self. In the Aquarian Age you must be YOU – embrace your uniqueness this year.

4. Flow with Life instead of Fighting Life
Massive change is here all around us and it is only speeding up. Nothing is wrong with you or with the world – it is just changing. Consciousness is expanding. Learn to embrace change. For example, if you lose your job, don’t fight it or hold on to the old. Let go; the Universe doesn’t like a vacuum. It means that something wonderful is coming your way.
