The European Khalsa Council, Amsterdam:

Annual Khalsa Council group Meeting held in Amsterdam January 27 - 29 2006
2 - year focus: "Sikh Dharma in Training'

The European Khalsa Council provides an opportunity for Sikh Dharma Ministers, Kundalini Yoga Teachers and Teacher Trainers to gather from all over Europe to create a powerful vision of the future, address issues and opportunities that affect Europe as whole and just be together and network as peers. With great initiative, heart and character these leaders of the European Community make available the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, Kundalini Yoga and tools for living a spiritual lifestyle. Many Khalsa Council Members travel far beyond the borders of European Continent sharing the teachings of Yogi Bhajan, while others bring their Ministerial skills and Kundalini Yoga into local community service programs for people facing addiction, abuse, and other crises.

THE LAST LIVING GOLDEN TEMPLE RESTAURANT

When Yogi Bhajan first came to the west and began teaching Kundalini Yoga, one of the first business he started was a chain of Golden Temple Restaurants. There are many stories as to how working at these restaurants created environments for people to learn and grow in the lifestyle of 3HO and Sikh Dharma. They seemed to be mini training centers in how to work together, live together and created an opportunity for great spiritual growth. Irrevocable bonds were created between people who served together in Golden Temple Restaurants. The Siri Singh Sahib says, 'Doing seva together creates friends for life' and the Golden Temple Restaurants were amazing opportunities for this. The last living Golden Temple Restaurant is in Amsterdam and run by Mata Mandir Singh & Sat Nam Kaur. Delicious food made with much love!

COMMUNITY OF EUROPEAN TEACHER TRAINERS

Upstairs in the Golden Temple Restaurant the Kundalini Yoga Teacher Trainers & those aspiring to be Teacher Trainers gather to share a meal, enjoy each others company and exchange stories from when some of the Lead Teacher Trainers just began practicing Kundalini Yoga. European Khalsa Council provides one of the few opportunities for the lead Teachers that are also Ministers to come together from all over Europe. Many laughs, many smiles, and high spirits in celebration of life and living it together.

CALLING IN THE PROSPERITY

The Siri Sikdar Sahiba, Guru Amrit Kaur leads the Council through a prosperity visioning process to call in the resources that will serve the future of the European Community. One of the projects they are currently exploring is purchasing land for their annual European Yoga Festival, that brings together about 1,500 people from around Europe and throughout the world. Guru Amrit describes how when you are clear as to what you need to serve and you meditate together, creating a collective intention it opens the space for the universe to deliver it. She shared a story from the International Khalsa Council Meetings where they set a collective intention for prosperity with a clear dollar amount (which at the time seemed like a huge leap) and 5 years later the Dharmic Businesses had achieved this amount.
