Who is Guru Nanak?
500 years ago, a beautiful man of universal consciousness, named Guru Nanak, dedicated his life to helping people to liberate themselves from the bondage of ego and tyranny. Guru Nanak went into a state of Samadhi (oneness with the universe and all of creation) for three days. At the moment of emerging, his first words were, "Ek Ong Kaar" (We are One with God) – the first line of Japji. He delivered universal teachings to the world. These teachings are available to anyone regardless of race, creed, religion, cast, or social status.

What is Japji?
Japji is a universal song of God consciousness composed by Guru Nanak. Japji uses the technology of Naad Yoga: the science of the sound current. Reciting the words of Japji, which speak of that which is beyond words to express, creates the sound current which serves to bring the frequency of Infinity into your life. Japji is a tool designed to deliver a human being to excellence. Japji is a teacher for anyone seeking Truth. The Sound Current of Japji and the meaning of its words, when meditated upon with openness and love, awakens a soul to its destiny. Step by step, Japji gives you the comprehensive power to know yourself as you are and be one with God's Creation in a spirit of joyful surrender.

"Repeating the entire Japji adjusts all the elements in all the charkas and gives you a complete tune up in your entire subtle and physical bodies…" .

" Once a man came to me and said, 'I want to be the wisest man in the world.' I said, 'Read Japji, and you will be.' He never came back. Where is he? I don't know. That's all it takes. If anyone can understand Japji, he can understand the entire wisdom of God."
-Yogi Bhajan on Japji

Do I have to be a Sikh to practice Sikh Dharma technologies?
You do not have to be a "Sikh" (which, by the way means a student of Infinity) to practice Sikh Dharma technologies. Sikh Dharma began over 500 years ago with the simple message of truthful living and the fundamental unity of all humanity. People of all faiths and cultural backgrounds are created by the One Creator. Sikh Dharma is a spiritual lifestyle that encourages us to see beyond our differences and to work together for world peace, harmony, and spiritual elevation.

"Occasionally a new teacher may hesitate because they think that a particular mantra or sound comes from a "religion." The Gurus received in an enlightened state of consciousness techniques that serve as a gift of transformation to all people who use it… It is the heritage of humankind… and a perfect tool because it comes through a completely clear mind, and every feeling, movement and rhythm is imprinted with the signature of the Infinite."
