Menopause
A woman's emotions and energy levels are much like a waning and waxing moon throughout the month--surging and receding. This is due to the body cycling through its hormonal phases throughout the month, sometimes following the moon closely.
Through her life span a woman cycles through hormonal stages, which affect her body, her mind and even her attitude. When a woman is prepubescent her estrogen levels are extremely low, after which she experiences 30 years of 10 to 40 times as much estrogen as before. This shapes a woman for her child rearing years. This is followed by a period where the estrogen levels decrease to their original pre-puberty levels. - a very natural progression signifying important stages of a woman’s life.
According to the Yogic tradition, menopause heralds a time in your life where you have learned and loved and gathered much life experience and wisdom. It is the sign that the time has come to share your wisdom with others. It causes a body / mind shift to power and projection. It is a time to rule, to guide, to give, and to serve others.
Try this emotion balancing breathing
According to Yogi Bhajan, the discomforts of menopause can be eased by yoga, meditation, diet and exercise. He stresses that a woman must exercise hard enough to sweat every day. This is the best hormonal adjustment. Weight bearing exercises like yoga will help maintain healthy bone mass. Yogi Bhajan says that a woman should eat very light vegetarian foods at this time in life and have her last meal of the day at 4:00 PM. Of course staying clear of stimulants, caffeine, alcohol, and refined sugar are going to help as well. Sesame oil will continue to help the female system. Also flax seed oil is a must, as well as Vitamin E, chlorophyll and raw sesame or almond oil – 2 tablespoons a day.

Menstruation
Stimulating your glandular system by exercising vigorously when you are not menstruating will reduce stress and release toxins stored in the body. Make it part of your routine to exercise and sweat every day.
“The law of the child is to listen and learn…law of the adult is to work and experience…law of the mature person is to share the wisdom…”
